Delicious Gouda Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients (serves 6):


  • 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • ½ small onion, finely diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, pressed

  • 3 tablespoons flour

  • 2 ¾ cups whole milk

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon pepper

  • 1 ½ cup Marieke Gouda Smoked

  • Gouda, shredded


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 2 quart baking dish with cooking spray, set aside.

  2. Melt butter in saucepan over medium low heat; add onions and sauté until tender. Stir in garlic and cook another 30 seconds until fragrant. Reduce heat to low, stir in flour until combined and mixture is smooth. Whisk in milk very slowly, stirring constantly. Increase heat and bring mixture to a boil, while stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

  3. Arrange half of potatoes in prepared baking dish, top with half the milk mixture and one half cup of Marieke’s Smoked Gouda. Top with remaining potatoes and milk mixture. Sprinkle one cup of Marieke’s Smoked Gouda over the whole dish.

  4. Cover and bake in preheated oven 45 minutes, uncover and bake an additional 50 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
