Cheesy Gouda Beer Bread

Recipe by Gouda Chef ®Molly Schraufnagel

Ingredients (serves 4-6):

  • 8 ounces Onion Garlic Marieke’s Gouda, shredded on the largest part of the box grader

  • 3 cups all purpose flour

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 (12 ounce) beer, light beer tastes best

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan. Combine cheese, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in mixing bowl. Add beer and mix until well combined. Pour into prepared loaf pan, spreading to corners. Drizzle melted butter over top of batter. Bake about 50 – 55 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean after being inserted into the center of the loaf. Let bread cool 5 minutes in the pan, and then turn out onto a cooling rack. Continue to cool and serve sliced with real butter. Tastes great toasted also. Enjoy!
